About Us

About Us

University Positions is an international academic and scientific job portal, with a main focus on clients and applicants from countries within the European union. We assist some of the biggest science institutes and universities in Europe, with the recruitment of scientific and academic staff.

We are located in Stockholm, Sweden, and have been the leading scientific/academic job board in northern Europe, since 2004.

We aim to ensure that our clients receive the most qualified applicants, without having to waste valuable time on browsing through endless piles of irrelevant applications. This, by personally inviting academics and scientists to register personal profiles on our portals. By matching eligible candidates from our database, with suitable vacancies advertised by our clients, we constantly maintain a high success-rate.

Matchmail

We invite academics, scientists and researchers of all fields to register themselves on our portals. By creating a personal profile on University Positions, candidates are kept informed of our latest vacancies in their specific fields of expertise. Thanks to our vast database (currently over 25,000 registered candidates), our clients improve their chances of receiving applications from qualified candidates, and often on short notice. Due to the efficiency of our Match-mail system, vacancies are often filled quicker than anticipated.

International Coverage

In order to reach out across Europe, and attract as many qualified applicants as possible, we post all vacancies on our three portals simultaneously.

The three portals are of differing geographical importance:

www.universitypostions.eu – Europe (Central)
www.universitetsjobb.se – Europe (North-East)
www.universitetstillinger.no – Europe (North-West)

The average traffic on the portals are between 60,000-70,000 individuals per month, measured in IP-Addresses.

Presentations

Universities and science institutes are given the option of promoting their own organisations by launching their own 'Presentations' on our website. This allows universities and institutes to introduce themselves and their organisations to a wider international community, as well as publishing current vacancies.

Scientific and Academic blog

One of University Positions' services is the scientific blog. Here, the universities and science institutes have the opportunity to achieve some extra international coverage for their projects. In this way, a university can introduce a particular project to the international science community, and at the same time promote their current vacancies, by linking the article to their positions.

Collaborations

Thanks to our long and fruitful collaborations with two of the biggest science and research-magazines in Northern Europe, we reach out to the majority of the Scandinavian science community.

Forskning&Framsteg:

The magazine 'Forskning&Framsteg' was established in 1967, and deals with science and research on a whole. The usual areas of interest are astronomy, physics, environment and ecology, energy and engineering, medicine and psychology, nature and animals, history and archeology, philosophy and ethics, economics, languages, culture and social sciences.

Forskning&Framsteg currently sells around 41,000 copies per month. 98% of which are delivered to subscribers around Scandinavia. Each number is read by between 200,000 to 250,000 people. 40 percent of which are women, and 60 percent men. As with FORSKNING, the magazine's job section is directly linked to our northern European portals. Read more at www.fof.se

Forskning:

The magazine 'Forskning' was established in 1985, with a main focus on technology, engineering and natural sciences. The magazine is mainly distributed to the Scandinavian universities and science institutes, but is also selling an average of 15,000 copies per month, to the public. Consequently, the magazine is read by an average of 35,000 people every month. The magazine's job section is directly linked to our northern European portals, and therefore guide candidates straight to our portals.
