Internship Opportunity for Refugees
The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) is the national institute which prepares expert reports and opinions on questions of food, feed and chemical safety, as well as consumer health protection, on the basis of internationally recognised scientific assessment criteria. It advises the German government and other institution s and interest groups in these areas. The BfR conducts its own research on topics closely rel ated to its assessment tasks. It is a legally
responsible institution within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). The BfR has its headquarters in Berlin.
We are offering a 3-month internship to refugees wh o have a prospect of remaining in Germany and who have worked or would like to work in the field of consumer health protection. The internship is intended to facilitate future employment in this field of science.
You should be able to provide proof of a completed course of study (to at least bachelor level) in a subject such as Biology, Chemistry, Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Food Sciences, Mathematics, Information Technology, Social Sciences or
Psychology, have good knowledge of English and be registered in Germany as an asylum seeker. Your legal residential status
should permit you to do an internship in Berlin.
The internship includes an appropriate range of further training offers coordinated to suit the needs of the participants.
