POST-DOC POSITION IN EXPERIMENTAL ECONOMICS

A three year postdoc position is vacant at the BI Norwegian Business School within the area of Experimental Economics at the Department of Economics. The position is linked to a project financed by the Research Council of Norway and BI Norwegian Business School. The project investigates causes of bargaining failure, theoretically and experimentally.

The successful applicant must hold a doctoral degree when entering the period. Applicants with strong analytical skills, and an interest in developing bargaining theory with the aim of testing the resulting implications in controlled experiments, will be preferred.

We welcome applicants to submit a short project proposal and a research statement. In addition to the research tasks, the successful applicant is expected to contribute to the activities of the Centre for Experimental Studies and Research (CESAR), and the running of the BI Research Lab.

Salary is determined upon agreement, and the position offers membership of the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

Competence will be evaluated in accordance with ordinary regulations for academic positions at universities and specialized university institutions. The evaluation will be based on the quality and relevance of previous research for the research activities in the project and potential for future research. Applicants may be called for an interview, or seminar presentation. The position will only be filled if qualified applicants are identified. BI will place emphasis on whether applicants have worked as teaching assistant or research assistant, including R&D work, research dissemination and research-based advisory services.
