The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) is a joint interdisciplinary research and training center of the ETH Zurich (ETH) and the University of Zurich (UZH). We support life science research with state-of-the-art technologies for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics, as well as by high-end bioinformatics analysis. The FGCZ is offering a position for a scientist with a strong background in mass spectrometry, to work in the interdisciplinary “omics” field using latest mass spectrometry technologies.

Mass Spectrometry / Proteomics Expert (100%)

The successful candidate will be part of a team of specialists working in the FGCZ proteomics core facility. He/she will be working on various LC-MS systems supporting and supervising researchers in experimental design, data acquisition and data analysis. Instrument maintenance, development and implementation of new analytical methods and new data analysis strategies are part of the responsibilities, as is the participation in the training and teaching of graduate students.
We are looking for a team player with good communication skills and expertise in analytical lab work. He/she should hold a PhD in the life sciences and dispose of practical experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. Advanced knowledge of English and the ability to interact in the interdisciplinary environment of the center is a prerequisite. Knowledge of German is helpful but not essential. The position requires the ability to work independently as well as team-oriented.
