As of February 1, 2020 to 31 July 2020 , the Department of English at the University of Basel is looking for a student assistant in English Linguistics (with Dr. Daniela Landert, SNF-PRIMA project leader). The position is part of the SNF project "The Pragmatics of Improvised Drama Comedy".
The successful applicant will transcribe video material from improvised theatre performances and collaborate with Daniela Landert on composing a corpus from these transcriptions.
We are looking for a well-organized and advanced student (3rd year BA, or MA student) with strong language and research skills and a keen interest in English linguistics. Experience in transcribing spoken language will be of advantage.
