Communications and Technology Transfer Officer
The Department of Physics at the University of Basel, Switzerland, invites applications for a Communications and Technology Transfer Officer. The University of Basel is the home institution of the NCCR (National Centre of Competence in Research) project "SPIN: Spin Qubits in Silicon". NCCR SPIN, a research network within Switzerland centered at the University of Basel, started its activities August 1, 2020. SPIN aims to develop elements of scalable quantum computer technology, focussing on electron and hole spin qubits in silicon and germanium.
Your position involves managing all aspects of communication, both internal and external. A key task is setting up and maintaining NCCR SPIN's website and social media as well as data management. Furthermore, you will be responsible for organising meetings, workshops and managing NCCR SPIN's outreach activities. As NCCR SPIN develops, technology transfer will become important. Together with the technology transfer offices of the participating institutions, you will manage the technology transfer activities of NCCR SPIN, specifically the commercialisation of the research.
Our ideal candidate has skills in web-presence, web-design, social media, outreach and communication. Furthermore, you have a background in the natural sciences, ideally physics, and share our commitment to the development of a quantum computing technology. Fluency in English and German is required.
