The Department of Biomedicine (DBM) of the University of Basel and University Hospital Basel promotes integrated research in biomedical research within the four focal areas immunology, oncology, stem cell biology & regenerative medicine, and neurobiology. Expert in Cell Sorting and Flow Cytometry (100%)
Your position
- Operation of multi-laser, high-speed cell sorters (currently 1 BD Influx and 3 BD FACSAria) and supervision of user-operated BD FACSMelody
- Instruction and supervision of users operating flow analyzers (5 BD LSRFortessa, 5 BC Cytoflex, 1 Cytek Aurora, 1 Fluidigm CyTOF Helios + Hyperion, 1 ImageStream)
- Providing expert advice in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of results
- Keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and new applications and advising the DBM leadership on purchase of new equipment
- Active, hands-on work and coordination of a team of currently 4 Core Facility operators
- including budgeting
Your profile
- Several years of hands-on experience and expertise in high end sorting with a variety of cell types and experimental systems and as an operator
- Candidates with or without a PhD will be considered
- A flexible schedule and effective organization skills are mandatory
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain good relationships with DBM researchers are essential
- The candidate should be self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
